were approved as amended. Chairman Juneau moved motion and Carlos seconded motion. All in favor 5-0.

    3) Public Forum: Alyssa and Phillip Schaeffer were in attendance. See new Business item # 6b.

    4) Unfinished Business:

    1. a) Review of action items:

07-01. Dave U. sent PDF file of Morehouse Farm Park to Commissioners for review of potential sites that a sign can be placed for Human and Natural History of the Park. Commissioners will choose a site that best fits when the text of Human and Natural History has been developed.

07-02. Dave U. spoke with Town Administrator Tom Landry who reported that the funds raised by the Weston Park Project have been released to them to begin purchasing equipment.

07-03. Dave U. sent an email to the Officers from Babe Ruth Softball, Weston Soccer Club and Weston Lacrosse Club to inquire as to whether an informational sign board would be helpful to their organization. At this point there is no positive response.

    1. .

      b) Weston Park Project: Dave U. reported he met with Melanie Mendelson and Samantha Parker from the WPP at Bisceglie- Scribner Park to go over the plan for playground expansion and details of construction process. They hope to have a plan from their project manager Cory Attra with current budget number for the complete project for the Commission soon.

      c) 07-08 Proposed Budgets. The Board of Selectmen reviewed the Parks & Recreation Operating and Capital Budget Request on January 29th. The Selectmen’s approved Budget will go before the Board of Finance on February 12th. The Parks & Recreation Operating budget was approved by the Board of Selectmen and will go unchanged to the Board of Finance. The Capital Committee did not approve the Parks & Recreation Commission capital requests for High School Stadium Bleachers or Middle School Field renovations to go forward to the Board of Finance.

      d) Other unfinished business: none

    2. 5) Reports of standing committees and resulting motions:
    3. a) Administrative Committee: none
    4. b) Aquatics Committee: none.
    5. c) Fields Committee: Bob Uzenoff commented on the Soccer Clubs storage shed at Morehouse Farm Park. It did not appear to be in the same style and appearance as he remembered from the proposal. Bob was of the understanding that the Commission gave approval for the shed with the stipulation that it was to be of similar style. The Commissioners will take a look and give their opinions at next meeting.
    6. d) Programs Committee: Winter programs are underway and going very well. The ski program is going well, with the very cold weather there has been good man made snow at Southington. The Basketball program is running smoothly. There has been added time to some of the games due to numbers that are a little higher than they should be in some leagues. We had record numbers for after school sports & fitness this season which caused us to have a waiting list for the first time.
    7. e) Parks Committee: none.

  1. 6) New Business:
    1. a) Weston Little League; will attend March meeting to propose dugouts for the remaining fields at Bisceglie-Scribner Park.
    2. b) Tennis Team Fundraiser; Alyssa and Phil Schaeffer representing the Weston High School tennis teams propose a fundraiser to be held on the Weston tennis courts on Memorial Day weekend Saturday May 27th from 11 a. to 7 pm. The fundraiser will be to support Norwalk Grassroots Tennis. Participants will be invited from Weston, Westport & Wilton to participate in this fundraiser tournament. Minimum donation to be $100.00 per participant with all proceeds going to Norwalk Grassroots Tennis. They hope to get 4 tiers of 16 players each for two hour shifts throughout the day. They have the support of the Weston Board of Education and the Athletic Department of the High School currently. The Supervision for the event and clean up will be provided by the

    1. parents of the team members. Bob Uzenoff moved to approve the proposal for the fundraiser pending the condition of the courts left in at least as good shape as they found them in when they get there and the logistics of the event can be successfully worked out with Director Dave Ungar. Bob moved motion and was seconded by Chairman Juneau. All in favor 5-0.
    2. c) Other new business: Discussion of the High School Stadium bleachers followed with the question being where does Weston go from here? Who are the support groups that need to push the bleacher project as this will be the third year of the Football Stadium without bleachers on the home side.
