Meeting called to order at 7:35 PM
 
Commission Members Present: Rick Phillips, William Brady, Peter Ottomano, Beth Gralnick, Rick Saltz and Jess DiPasquale
 
Also Present: Chief of Police John Troxell, Detective Carl Filsinger, Special Officer Terry Mooney, First Selectman Woody Bliss, Town Engineer John Conte, Public Works Director Joe Lametta, Ellen Jones, John Hammerslough, Patty Gay, Rabbi Stone and Chris Kimberly
 
Chairman Phillips would like the minutes to reflect the Boards official recognition and thanks to our outgoing secretary Betty Greaves for her 40 years of service to the Board of Police Commission and that it was a pleasure serving with her.
 
 
  1. Consideration/Approval of Minutes of September 4 ,2007
 
Motion made by Mr. Brady to amend the agenda moving Item 1 to Item 3, seconded by Mr. Saltz.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
  1. Chief’s Report for September 2007
 
Chief Troxell handed out work schedule for September 2007 and October 2007, Training Projections, year to date budget report and various other reports for discussion.
 
  1. Consideration/Approval of the minutes of the meeting of September 4, 2007
 
Tabled to the November 2007 meeting.
 
  1. Introduction of candidate for Police Chaplain         
 
Rabbi Stone was introduced to the Board by Chief Troxell.  Rabbi Stone is appointed by the Chief and will be confirmed by the Selectmen at the next Selectmen’s Meeting.  Vote to appoint Rabbi Stone, motion made by Chairman Phillips, seconded by Commissioner Gralnick.  Motion carried.
 
  1. Discussion speed control techniques
 
Chief Troxell gave a Power Point presentation based on a study done in Easton, CT with the permission of Easton’s Chief of Police Soloman. John Conte, Town Engineer and Joe Lametta, Director of Public Works expressed their concerns. 
NO POLICY CRITERIA ESTABLISHED IN WESTON REGARDING SPEED HUMPS.

Commissioner Gralnick made a motion to adjourn, motion seconded by Commissioner DiPasquale.
