MINUTES

February 4, 2008

Meeting Room

Meeting called to order at 7:05 PM

Commission Members Present: Rick Phillips, William Brady, Peter Ottomano, Rick Saltz, Jess DiPasquale and John Hammerslough. Beth Gralnick absent.

Others Present: Chief Troxell, Sgt. Ferullo, Officer Arnette and Officer Klein

1) Consideration/approval of the minutes of January 9, 2008

Motion by Commissioner Saltz to accept minutes with corrections to Item 3, seconded by Chairman Phillips. All in favor

2) Presentation of Chief’s report for January 2008

Overtime has come down dramatically. Chief Troxell explained to Year to Date Overtime Breakdown for L/D and the February 2008 work schedule.

Chairman Phillips stated for the record that Detective Filsinger did a great job with the presentation he gave at the Kiwanis meeting.

Chief Troxell explained the police departments roll in the Communication Centers situation. Discussion about Sgt. Ferullo taking over as temporary Director of the Communication Center.

3) Sub-committee assignments and reports – Citizen of the Year

Incorporated 1787

Commissioner DiPasquale has sent out letters and an article was placed in the Weston Forum. As of yet there have been no responses but there is still plenty of time. Commissioner DiPasquale will send out a reminder. There should be a list to vote on at the March meeting.

4) Other business

With no further business to come before the Commission, a motion was made by Commissioner Saltz and seconded by Commissioner Ottomano to go into Executive Session. Adjourned to Executive Session at 8:00 PM

5) Executive Session – Discussion of Draft Police Chief Contract

No decision made in Executive Session. Executive Session adjourned at 9:50 PM.
