Department Information

Develops and revises programs for the Town’s computer systems. Works with Town officials and consultants to review and implement a long-term technology plan.

Trains Town employees in the operation of computer programs including, but not limited to, spreadsheets, word processing, and the use of applications such as Munis, Quality Data, Univers, Resolution and Access.

Designs and maintains the Town of Weston Website, keeping all information current. Serves as the webmaster for e-mail requests.

Maintains all Town computers and computer networks. If necessary, requests outside assistance in response to hardware and software problems.

Handles requests from the public for copies of computer records on paper, diskette, tape, or labels.

Advises the Town Administrator, the Finance Director, and the Selectmen on issues relating to the purchase or change of computer hardware and software and assists in the development of specifications and budgets for purchases.

Serves as System Administrator for the Town’s telephone system (including schools), furnishing monthly reports on phone usage as well as making necessary additions or changes to the system or employee’s voice mail.
