Weston History & Culture Center – 104 Weston Rd. Weston

WESTON, CT – Genetic genealogy has become an important tool for resolving complex genealogical questions and cold cases. Join researcher Laura Clark Murray for “Genetic Genealogy in Action: From Researching Patriots to Solving Cold Cases” on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 3:15pm at the Weston History & Culture Center – 104 Weston Road in Weston, CT. FREE event - Registration required as seating is limited, register here: https://events.ticketleap.com/tickets/weston-history-culture-center/genetic-genealogy-in-action-from-researching-patriots-to-solving-cold-cases.

Laura Clark Murray explores how DNA analysis, combined with traditional records, can resolve persistent family mysteries, reinforce lineage proof for patriot ancestors, and assist in identifying unknown individuals in cold cases. With more than 30 years of genealogical experience and active involvement in investigative genetic genealogy research, Laura highlights the power of DNA as evidence in this slide lecture.

This event is part of the “America 250: The Revolutionary Spirit Lecture Series”, co-sponsored by the Friends of the Weston Public Library, The Weston History & Culture Center and the League of Women Voters of Weston, with support from the Weston America 250 Advisory Group.

About the Presenter: Laura Clark Murray is Program Manager for the High Impact Technology Fund at Stanford University and a researcher supporting Dr. Lawrence Wein’s

work on advancing the efficiency of forensic investigative genetic genealogy. With more than three decades of genealogical research experience, she focuses on integrating DNA analysis with documentary evidence to strengthen lineage proof and support the identification of unknown individuals. She is a genetic genealogy researcher with Family Locket and a volunteer investigator with the DNA Doe Project, collaborating with law enforcement agencies across the country on complex cold cases. She is currently pursuing accreditation in investigative genetic genealogy.
