SNAP Benefits & How to Help

Post Date:10/30/2025 12:29 PM

The Town of Weston’s Human Services Department is monitoring the ongoing federal government shutdown and its potential impact on residents who rely on SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits. The U.S. Department of Agriculture has announced that November SNAP benefits will not be issued if the shutdown continues into November. We understand this may cause concern for families and individuals managing limited resources. You are not alone. Weston's community of partners are here to help ensure that no resident goes without food or essential support.

What You Need to Know

  • SNAP benefits already loaded onto EBT cards WILL remain available through November.
  • If the shutdown continues, November benefits will not be issued.
  • The Connecticut Department of Social Services (DSS) will share updates as available at www.ct.gov/dss or follow CTDSS on Facebook and X.
